Corrosion resistance:

In general chemical media, 316L stainless steel pipes exhibit high chemical stability and do not react easily with common chemicals. However, in some specific strong corrosive media, such as concentrated nitric acid or hydrofluoric acid, their corrosion resistance may be affected.
Passivation:
After exposure to air or undergoing passivation treatment, a passivation film forms on the surface of 316L stainless steel pipes. This passivation film enhances corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance. Passivation treatment typically involves immersing the stainless steel pipe in a solution containing an oxidant, such as nitric acid or potassium dichromate, to promote the formation and repair of the passivation film.
