Apparence:

It usually presents a silvery white metallic color, with a smooth surface and high gloss. Different surface effects can be obtained through different surface treatment processes, such as mirror polishing, brushing, etc. 316L stainless steel pipes are often used in applications where corrosion resistance and aesthetic appeal are highly valued.

Densité:

The density is generally around 7.98g/cm³. For example, the density of 316L stainless steel pipe is approximately 7.98g/cm³, which is slightly higher than ordinary carbon steel.

Point de fusion:

The melting point is relatively high, generally around 1375-1400℃. This makes it suitable for use in high-temperature environments, ensuring stability even under extreme conditions.

Coefficient de dilatation thermique :

The coefficient of thermal expansion is relatively small. In the range of room temperature to 100℃, the coefficient of thermal expansion of 316L stainless steel is about 16.0×10⁻⁶/℃. This feature enables it to maintain good dimensional stability in environments with significant temperature changes.

Conductivité thermique :

The thermal conductivity is poor, and its thermal conductivity coefficient is about 16.3W/(m・K), which is much lower than that of copper, aluminum, and other metals, providing certain thermal insulation performance.

Antioxydation :

316L stainless steel pipes have excellent oxidation resistance at both room temperature and higher temperatures. They can withstand high-temperature environments without being easily oxidized, making them suitable for applications like heat exchangers and exhaust systems.

Stabilité chimique :

In general chemical media, 316L stainless steel pipes exhibit high chemical stability and do not react easily with common chemicals. However, in some specific strong corrosive media, such as concentrated nitric acid or hydrofluoric acid, their corrosion resistance may be affected.

Passivation:

After exposure to air or undergoing passivation treatment, a passivation film forms on the surface of 316L stainless steel pipes. This passivation film enhances corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance. Passivation treatment typically involves immersing the stainless steel pipe in a solution containing an oxidant, such as nitric acid or potassium dichromate, to promote the formation and repair of the passivation film.
